The New Technology Initiative (NTI) of the University of Chester was founded in 2003. The NTI specialises in project management and technology training and also develops academic courses in areas such as Health Informatics, Music Technology & Creative Industries (including accredited Apple software training).

The NTI is an Accredited Training Organisation for M_o_R (Management of Risk) and for the PRINCE2 Project Management method. We also offer bespoke courses for businesses, designed to fit any training need. All NTI courses are supported by the quality and experience of the University of Chester. The NTI is a corporate member of BPUG - the Best Practice User Group.

Scheduled courses are run near Chester at the Burton Manor Conference & Training Centre, Wirral, Cheshire, or at the University's Warrington campus. Where demand is sufficient, we can deliver courses on-site anywhere in the UK. We are also planning to deliver "contractor-friendly" evening and weekend courses in the near future.

The NTI works together with the University's Professional Development Unit to provide work-based learning options which offer delegates help and mentoring in implementing PRINCE2 in practice, after taking the qualification. This forms part of a wide range of part-time, work-based career development options, offering a comprehensive package of both accredited professional certification and academic qualifications.
